Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS) and Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) together operate out of three campuses: Nakameguro, Minami Azabu and Roppongi Arc Hills, and is run by Global Institute (GI), a joint venture company established by Sumitomo Corporation (SC) and Japan International Education Center (JIEC) in September 2011.
Starting in April 2014 the school will be working with a number of new franchisees to open new campuses around Japan. The first new campus in 2014, opened by a company named Global Academy (GA), is based in Kachidoki, Chuo-ku.
TISAS is an after school program that provides an immersion environment (children must attend at least 3 days per week) for non-native English speaking children. The TISAS school is located near Kachidoki station on the Oedo line
Students attend classes from 2pm until 7pm (the students arrive anytime between 2 pm and 4 pm). The first 2 hours is called See, Hear and Wonder Time and is a guided play time and homework time. Between 4pm and 7 pm we have 5 focused study blocks: Circle Time, Kinesthetic, Story Telling, Language Strategies, and Course Time. The Course Time is different each day with Monday being Food, Tuesday is Art, Wednesday is Music, Thursday is Our World, and Friday is Kids Force. Classes are separated by age group and the maximum number of students per class is 18
