OMS dedicates itself to the Montessori philosophy and practice, and adheres to the code of ethics set forth by the American Montessori Society. The school’s mission is to partner with our parents in the total development of their children by following the Montessori approach in education. A variety of Montessori materials and teacher-made activities keep the children occupied the whole time that they are in the school. The place is a second home to a maximum of 45 children of mixed ages. The children are busy but happy. The classes are directed by 2 professional Montessori certified teachers and 2 Montessori trained assistant teachers in an environment that encourages each child to respond freely and creatively.
The school’s curriculum goals are to help each child reach full potential in all areas of life, in his own pace through age-appropriate & purposeful activities; to satisfy each child’s readiness for academic excellence; and to provide each child with opportunities for success and makes learning fun & a wonderful experience. OMS is housed in a two story residential building with a front yard for the children’s outside play. The building is located near the seawall and 5 minutes walk away from the community park. The rooms are carpeted, fully air conditioned, well-lighted, safe for children and very conducive to learning. The preschool operates half-day classes (8:00 – 12:00 & 12:00 – 4:00 Mon-Fri); extended day classes (8:00 – 2:00 & 10:00 – 4:00 Mon-Fri) and full day classes (8:00 – 4:00 Mon – Fri)
