EWMS East West Montessori School is the oldest English-speaking Montessori School on Okinawa. It was originally founded in 1986 by Victory Christ Church.
The school population offers a nice blend of American students as well as Japanese students. While all of the classrooms are conducted in English, Japanese and Okinawa culture are also included in our curriculum, as well as some Japanese Language.
With Montessori Trained and Certified teachers, the school strives to meet the needs of all of our students, while adhering to the Montessori Philosophy and Method of Education. We are continually working with other Montessori organizations to educate ourselves as well as our students. EWMS has two Primary Classrooms for ages 3 to 6. Each classroom has a Head Teacher and two assistant teachers, with 30 students. EWMS has one Toddler Classroom for ages 2 to 31/2. This classroom has a Head Teacher and two assistant teachers, with 20 students. It is a wonderful environment for the little ones to learn and grow!
