Newly opened (since 2010), Kailua IS offers a preschool program based on the Ontario-Canadian educational system. Kailua in Hawaiian means two ocean currents. At Kailua International School, the two ocean currents symbolize two roads that a child has to take. A child has to make a choice as to which road he has to tread in his educational journey. Whichever road he chooses, he has to take the risk of the unknown, ready to explore and tackle the challenges he encounters along the road. The term Kailua denotes two mystic ocean currents that are inviting to an inquisitive child and waiting to be explored. Saturday school and afterschool programs also offered.
