The preschool caters for 1 to 3 year old children while a kindergarten program is for children aged 4 to 6 years of age. Children in a Multi Age Environment will learn to be responsible for themselves as well as each other, thus also becoming responsible for their own learning. Children will learn to share, interindependence and independence, to respect individuality and uniqueness through their daily school life.
AIS is a preschool and kindergarten, where children learn to respect differences and develop borderless friendships through the international atmosphere in the classrooms and activities. The school takes an eclectic approach to its curriculum; guidelines as set out by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (USA) forming the basis and we are continually researching and including current trends and practices in early childhood classrooms. A low student-teacher ratio is available for each program, which enhances the high quality of education for each individual. The programs are designed to accommodate each individual child’s physical, social, learning and emotional level and needs. Curriculums for each program include: Communication Skill Building, Language, Social Studies, Building of Mathematical Concepts, Music and Rhythm, Creative and Dramatic Activities, Pre-reading/ Reading Activities, Science, and Muscular Coordination and Development Activities.
The principal believes in the Montessori method and its program is a good mix of both developmental and academic.

There are different days of the week that are set aside for each‘academic’ subject and they have developmental activities throughout the rest of the day. The daily schedule includes greetings and circle time in the morning, followed by a more academic class then lunch followed by outdoor time and free play. Crafts and some singing and dance in the afternoons. Occasional ‘field trips’are made to the library or nearby parks.
Facilities include a large playground in the back with a roller slide that goes down from the 2nd floor to the playground which the kids love. Close by are many neighborhood parks including Araha (pirate ship park).
