Founded in 2004, Grace Christian International School, located on the campus of Grace Christian Fellowship in Ome, Tokyo, about one hour west of Shinjuku station.
It is still a very young school helping Christian and missionary families in the western Tokyo area meet their educational needs. GICS offers a 5-day school week from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and encourages families to use either Saturday as a home-school day.
GICS offers a core curriculum of English, Math, Bible, History and Science supplemented with Japanese, Art, Music, and Physical Education. In addition children are exposed to Japanese culture and history through field trips, and have opportunities to take part in missions, drama, and Christian outreach in the community. Every class day is begun with chapel where children, teachers and parents worship Christ through music, prayer and God’s word.

Grace Christian International School is hosted by, and is a ministry of Grace Christian Fellowship. All teachers and staff are committed Christians and the curriculum is based on a Christian world-view.

  1. Hi Johnathon,

My name is Hank and I am attending Calvary Christian School in Helena, Montana. I am 14 years old. In our class at school, we have chosen missionaries to pray for and do a report on. I chose you and your wife (Rie).

What is it like where you are living in Japan? What type of difficulties do you face? Is there anything specific I can pray for? What type of religions do you come across?

If you would be able to reply to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you!
    Hank

  2. I am a teacher . I have been a primary school teacher for the past 15 years. I came to Japan from Sri Lanka , in 2015. I am a sponsored teacher . I am a devoted Christian and I feel I want to work in a Christian School, because this school is mostly based on Islamic Culture. I love my students but I feel it’s better to be in Christian environment.

  3. Kushani,
In what way is your Christian school “mostly based on Islamic culture”? I was looking around for Christian schools in Japan.

    Thanks
    Eddie
